Sister Sister

With several Xangans packing up and driving or preparing to drive to lovely Eminence Missouri, I'd like to offer a humble tribute to perhaps one of the best moments that I've ever had there in the 12 years that I've attended.

It wasn't the bluff hole.  It wasn't the canoe trip.  It wasn't the wiener roast over the HOT coals prepared so faithfully by Bill Fleener & Duane Talkington. It wasn't the hilarious skits (and there were plenty) from Sharing nights.  It wasn't the many chats that took place as we did laps around the "loop" each morning.

It was the day that my sister in law Carolyn became my sister in CHRIST Carolyn.  That is hands-down, the best memory that I have.  Many things have produced many memories for me over the years, but few as powerful as the loving memories I've shared with my wife & kids, and Deb's family, and all of the wonderful spiritual family that converges on Discovery Ministries until it is literally busting at the seams.  And of all the memories........the following picture best represents to me what the week is all about.  Growing in our faith........with one baby step to the shoreline, followed by immersion into the water, a new life is formed.

Carolyn being led to the "deep end", as the kids used to call it.  Bob & Bill each at her side, led her along the most important walk that she has ever made.  Just past the Alley bridge and around the bend (about 1/2 way down that stretch to where Jack's Fork is met by the COLD Alley Spring water).

Title is sufficient

Checking once again......Good thoughts from not_tamika.....trying my hand at that, but it doesn't seem to be the catch.  Will keep trying

Disgusted

Ok, normally I wouldn't let this bother me so much, but I absolutely don't have the facebook box in my "Extras" area.  I went to Weblog settings & even have the box checked to send (or publish) to my Facebook automatically.  It doesn't.   I found the notice on the XANGA TEAM post where they introduced the Facebook API in response to Xangans wanting to push more traffic to their blog.

My wonder is if there is somewhere in the set-up where I have to tell Xanga what my Facebook site is (I would assume so, but can't find it).  Similarly, I looked in Facebook for a link to Xanga.  They may both be there, but I'm not finding them........

Sadly, even with the help of HouseofHarvs & LittleRedHen, I don't think I'm getting anywhere with it.  Much like the child who without a dime to his name is still forced to listen to the Ice Cream Truck heading his direction...........I can't link my to this post

Like Edison, I try, try again.......

In the heat of summer, when the brain nearly fries, it's the best time to do a full pore check.  Just step outside & let the little pore valves open up..................Sooooo thankful it isn't winter (which ironically USED to be my favorite time of year).  Love the snow.  The cold? - not so much

First attempt

Great seeing so many excited to be headed to Eminence.   I have a simple request to you all, take pics & post them on Xanga (or FB).  It'll be like being there, but without the Dairy Hut :o(
